More than 200 Bainbridge Island families are served by our program each year.

Community education and outreach are an integral cmponent of the ALIVE program. Dating violence awareness and prevention is taught at Bainbridge Island High School. Community educatoin topics include domestic violence in the workplace and the effects of domestic violence on children.

Each October, a community awareness event is held. In 2004 Bainbridge Island businesses and churches sponsored the Washington State Silent Witness Exhibit. This exhibit, which consists of 35 silhouettes representing murdered domestic violence victims, stirred our community.

Counselors coordinate with other agencies, school district teachers and counselors, Juvenile Court, the police, Helpline House, Kitsap Mental Health, physicians, therapists, drug and alcohol treatment facilities to ensure the development of a workable local support system for youth and family.
