Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers of Bainbridge Island

"Give of your hands to serve and your hearts to love." -- Mother Teresa

Our Mission
  • To help persons of all ages and persuasions maintain their dignity and quality of life
  • To bring together persons of various faiths and good will to serve those in need within the community

Today, in every community, even on an Island like Bainbridge, there are people in need who fall through the cracks, whose needs are not addressed by existing programs:

  • Frail, elderly people with disabilities who need occasional help and emotional support so they can remain independent
  • Overburdened family caregivers who need an affordable way to get a break from their stressful responsibilities
  • People who, because of an accident or medical condition, need temporary help in their day-to-day living

In every community there are also people who, because of their faith or life-values, believe that service to others is an essential component of a well-rounded, balanced life. The challenge is to connect these people with needs and these people with a commitment to serve others. That is the task of the Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers of Bainbridge Island.
