"Neighbors Helping Neighbors"
- A neighbor is concerned about an elderly woman next door
- A friend has just lost his job due to company reorganizations
- A family struggles to buy groceries and pay for school clothes
- A wheelchair is needed after surgery
- A person going through divorce needs emotional support
- A mother feels isolated at home with a new baby and toddler
We on Bainbridge Island are good neighbors and sharing friends. That is what
makes our community special. It comforts us to know that we are not alone.
Helpline House offers a connection to your community and neighbors; it
has been a place for receiving and for giving help since 1968.
As a first step all you may need is information. One call puts you in
touch with trained volunteers who help you with locating resources, with
food, transportation, and employment. They can also connect you to
professional social workers who provide crisis intervention, counseling
and resources, all in the strictest confidence.
